Puppy Kindergarten

Designed for puppies 7–16 weeks (at time of enrollment).

We focus on:

  • Common topics such as housebreaking, crate training, nipping, jumping
  • Introduction of early obedience commands & life skills
  • Confidence building through puppy-appropriate agility training.
  • Puppy socialization in a supervised setting.
  • Puppies are segregated by size with active owner involvement.

Puppy Basic

Designed for ages 5 months to 7 months of age.

  • For puppies who have either completed a Puppy Kindergarten course or who are new to obedience classes
  • Good manners and basic obedience skills are taught in an age appropriate, positive manner
  • Introduction to basic commands include sit, down, stay, wait, come and leash walking
  • Ongoing socialization with other puppies
  • Confidence building activities that include safe introduction of agility equipment.

Family Dog 1 — Basic Obedience

  • Dogs over 8 months of age or older puppies who have completed Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy Basic
  • Skills taught include controlled leash walking, sit, down, wait at doorways, come when called, introduction of Go to Mat
  • Commands are taught in a fun, pet friendly manner and gently enforced to ensure reliable performance
  • Additional skills taught at the Instructor’s discretion

Family Dog 2 / Intermediate Obedience / Canine Good Citizen Preparation

  • Prerequisite Family Dog 1
  • Emphasis on reliable performance with one command response
  • Introduction to off-leash work
  • Preparation Class for Canine Good Citizen Certification and Therapy Dog Certification

Scent Work / Nose Work

  • A dog’s sense of smell that’s between 10,000 and 100,000 times more acute than ours!
  • Turning your dog’s favorite activity into a rewarding game.
  • Builds teamwork and communication skills between handler and dog
  • Easily accessible dog sport for handler of any age and any breed of dog
  • Earn AKC titles that become part of your dog’s permanent record through the American Kennel Club!
